Saturdays 9.00am – 1:00pm

These throwing workshops are for those who wish to brush up their skills on the potter’s wheel, or for beginners. Saturday half-day throwing workshops are open only to adults (16+), with a maximum of 6 attendees.

These workshops cost £85 per adult, which includes teaching and refreshments, and are led by Susana Garcia.

If you are not a current student at The Clay Studio, at the end of the workshop you will be given two options:

  1. Keep a maximum of two pots. We will recycle any other pots your have made.  The pots you keep will be glazed for you and you can pick them up a few weeks later.  This is included in the price.
  2. Keep more than two pots and return for a Glaze workshop – see below.  This needs to be a firm commitment on the day of the Throwing Workshop.

For current students at The Clay Studio, you can choose how many pots to keep, with the rest being recycled, and you can turn and glaze these retained pots in your weekly class.

Glaze Workshop – 8th June 2-4pm

For those of you who aren’t a current Clay Studio student, we offer an optional follow-up session where you will have a chance to receive further tuition, glaze, decorate and complete your pieces yourself.  These follow-up sessions last two hours and are priced at £35/head. The pots you take away are weighed and charged at a small cost.

The next Glaze Workshop is 8th June 2-4pm. Other dates will follow.

Alternative, you may feel like completing your pots during a Raku experience, which is a very exciting alternative follow-on option.

Taster Sessions

These throwing workshops provide a great opportunity for a “Taster Session” if you are contemplating joining a class. There is nothing like a full hands-on experience, working within a group of like-minded people, and getting a good feel for the facilities, energy and atmosphere of the studio.
