Charleston Festival 2024: 16-27 May at Charleston, Firle

Charleston Festival brings together today’s most exciting artists, thinkers and changemakers to engage with art and ideas.

For this special 35th edition, The festival presents its most ambitious lineup yet, bringing together an array of influential voices to illuminate the world’s stories and disentangle its complexities.

Charleston is based in the heart of the South Downs National Park in East Sussex. The modernist home and studio of the painters Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant, Charleston was a gathering point for some of the 20th century’s most radical artists, writers and thinkers known collectively as the Bloomsbury group. It is where they came together to imagine society differently, and has always been a place where art and experimental thinking are at the centre of everyday life.
