This is such a great example of how surface decora This is such a great example of how surface decoration can completely change the feeling of a piece. The dragon wraps around the form, giving the piece personality.
Dragons have long been seen as symbols of strength, protection, wisdom and good fortune.
Karrie is one of lovely weekly class regulars who Karrie is one of lovely weekly class regulars who has been coming to the studio for a while. Here, she shares her throwing tips with other class members.

The invite has gone out to our current students to secure a place on their regular day. Booking will open to our waiting list at the end of June before general release a couple of weeks later.

Animals are always a popular choice to create in our studio.

It looks like Elisa has used our copper oxides and olive glaze.
These beautiful pieces have all been through a Sag These beautiful pieces have all been through a Saggar firing. 
The interesting markings and colouration are caused by combustibles such as seaweed, banana skins or coffee grounds and the application of oxides. 
Sealed in a wrapping of clay and foil, these materials burn into the surface of the pot under the extreme heat of the firing, yielding fascinating results. 
We have just one space left on our Saggar Barrel Firing Workshop, led by Helen Ashton @helen.ceramics taking place on the evening of Friday 3rd July and afternoon of Saturday 4th (for the reveal!)

Our optional project this term is Jugs & Carafes and we are already seeing some wonderful examples made by students coming through the kilns. We’ll be posting a gallery of them on here soon!
