Workshop: Throwing Mini Moon Jars

Beyond centering: curves and colour

In this three-hour workshop, venture beyond the basics and learn how to make mini moon jars and embellish them with coloured slip brushstrokes.

Suitable for: Beginners, or anyone who has completed one of our Throwing Taster workshops and wants to further improve their skills.

From the basics of centering, opening up and the first pull, Eloise will demonstrate and guide you in how to throw a moon jar. You will be decorating your finished pots with slip, which is a liquid form of coloured clay. You will then be using a fan brush to apply your decoration.

Further details

Throwing workshops are open to adults (16+), with a maximum of nine attendees. Drinks and refreshments included.

You can keep a maximum of three moon jars* and we will recycle any other pots you make on the day.  These three pots will be glazed for you and you can pick them up a few weeks later once fired.

*For current students at The Clay Studio, if you wish to keep more than three pots, you can turn and glaze these retained pots in your weekly class.
