We are so looking forward to the Kintsugi workshop We are so looking forward to the Kintsugi workshops coming up next weekend, Saturday 7th February. 
Led by our guest artist Iku Nishikawa from @kintsugioxford there are just the last few spaces left. 
You can bring a piece of broken pottery with you or we will have a collection of vintage pieces for you to practice with.

Whether you are a complete novice with clay or looking to experiment with pattern this is a great way to explore the options of working with coloured slip and paper resist.

His surname is Keys and these were gifts for his two daughters for them to keep their keys on, so it’s keys for Keys!

A couple of beautiful pieces made in the studio here recently.
For our term project this year, instead of suggest For our term project this year, instead of suggesting a particular form or item to make, we are encouraging students to experiment with mixed media. 
From adding wooden or metal handles, to decorative elements featuring beads, leather or textiles. We have  selection of gathered items in the studio to use and look forward to seeing what our students forage to include in their projects.

Our Hakeme workshop is coming up on Saturday 31st Our Hakeme workshop is coming up on Saturday 31st January and Lisa Jones, who is leading the workshop with Susana Garcia, recently met up with Sussex basketmaker Matilda Grover, to discuss and experiment with natural materials, binding and tying, to make suitable brushes. 
If you’d like to try your hand at this plus make two beautiful black clay plates to decorate with your freshly made brushes, then do join us for this lovely, creative and meditative afternoon workshop.

We have great pleasure in welcoming back Sussex-ba We have great pleasure in welcoming back Sussex-based basket weaver Matilda Grover, who will be running a two day workshop with us in February. 
Matilda will be teaching participants how to make a beautiful, small willow frame basket, perfect for storing and displaying fruit and vegetables.
No previous experience of basketry needed but as it is a physical process, reasonable hand strength is required. 
Refreshments and a light vegetarian lunch are included as well as all materials.
